60 Rallies! Amazing Organizers and Organizations

Need an update? There have been so many amazing people on this campaign — I wish I could name them all. From all the organizing teams going strong everywhere to Deb Fay in Chicago to Cheryl in Phoenix, Faith in Florida, Dirtyhands in Boulder, Chris in San Francisco, Mark in Los Angeles, Jeremy and Roxanne in Raleigh, Ed Crump in Hickory, Candice and Chris and Barry in Seattle, Winnie in Pittsburgh, Austin and Matt in NY, Debria in DC, Michael in NJ, Sarah in Iowa, Jobs with Justice in Portland.

When the sun sets on the western horizon tonight, permit issues will no longer hold us back; they have been processed where processing was demanded. FYI, groups under 20 can gather so some rallies will stand in groups of 20, and people can gather as long as they’re not in the street in some cities — we stand by this.

Bill Moyers Journal will be making a montage of all the protests! Bring your camera and add your footage that we will send to Congress as well as Bill Moyers. We absolutely are in love with his brand of activism. Upload your videos to youtube or bliptv, but it’s very IMPORTANT to tag your videos with “breakupthebanks” “breakthebanks” or “breakbanks” or “anwf”.

If you or others at the rally don’t have a youtube account for uploads, you can use this blip tv account: http://uploads.blip.tv/ :: username: breakthebanks :: password: banks

Plans for the “day of” are the largest outdoor phone banks in history with free weekend minutes and running video footage — bring your cell phone and cameras; bring huge signs with your Senators’, Rep’s, and Obama’s (202-456-1111) phone number! We’re going to fill up their machines. Pump everyone up for the release of the Dirty Dog theme song that will drop sometime during the protest — you can sign up to get a text of the song to the right in our SMS signup section.

Each of these 60 rallies are being organized by people in your state and your organizers are planning all different kinds of things as well — should I reveal what they are?

Mike Lux, our new honorary co-chair will be speaking at the rally in Washington, D.C. Consumers Union has helped craft a letter we hope to circulate at the protests and send to Congress on Tax Day. Download it and bring it to the protest, send it back to us at 330 Ireland St. Chfld, MA 01084 or tyc@anewwayforward.org.
